After completing early schooling in Ireland Mark moved to England at 16 years of age to pursue a career in football. Having spent four years in Britain playing for Peterborough United and Raith Rovers Mark returned to Ireland where he played both professionally and semi professionally for 12 years whilst resuming academic career in University College Cork. A bachelor of Arts degree was followed with a Higher Diploma in education. He qualified as a secondary school teacher and taught in St Josephs College, Galway for 12 years. Mark is a registered scout for the FAI. He founded Headrite Sports in 2016.
Liam Frawley is a software developer with a Masters of Engineering from DCU. He has over 18 years of professional experience and 2 US patents. Liam played Volleyball for Ireland from 1998 to 2003 and took part in the team’s most successful European qualifying campaign in 2002. Liam also cycled with Galway Bay Cycling Club and represented the club in the An Post Ras in 2013 having won numerous national races in 2012 and 2013.
Dr Michael Newell is a qualified Sports and Exercise Scientist with a Doctorate degree in Integrated Biology. His research interests include injury epidemiology and injury prevention, and physiological performance and assessment in sports and exercise. Dr Newell works with professional sports teams and is the Director of postgraduate programmes in Medical Science, and Sports and Exercise Medicine at the National University of Ireland, Galway.
Neal played professional and semi-professional football for Cork City FC over a period of 15 years contributing to a successful period for the club which included League and Cup titles as well as playing in the Europa League and Champions League. A twice published author and a regular contributor to the sports pages of the Irish Examiner, Neal is part of our team on a volunteer basis as he is interested in helping Headrite Sports establish safer heading practices within the world of football. In his day job Neal is a practicing Solicitor.
Henry is an Entrepreneur with a track record of starting and growing businesses. As CEO of Sweepovac Henry invented, developed, patented and sourced manufacturing for a unique fixed domestic vacuum appliance. He has now taken this consumer product into 14 international markets through liaising and partnering with distributors and retail groups.. Henry also has a strong academic background having in recent years achieved a first class Masters in Business (MBS), winning student of the year twice.
Gianluca Aimi is a IMST/ITEC certified Physichal Therapist with clinic experience in Sport injury treatment and rehab. In his past as a player, back in his native Italy he became part of the youth system of the professional club Parma FC. Since moving to Ireland in 2002, Luca obtained Goalkeeping Coaching qualifications with FAI (Republic of Ireland) & IFA (Northern Ireland) and is being training and developing players for local soccer clubs and individually. He recently completed the ITEC/QQI level 6 – Sports Psychology programme.
Naoise Kettle is a young Filmmaker/Editor based in Co. Laois. Naoise’s films have been screened at film festivals all around Ireland and won awards such as The RTE Factual Award and The Radharc Award for the best documentary at Ireland’s Young Filmmaker Of The Year 2015. Naoise’s wide range of influences in film production is visible in his work, giving a more creative and artistic edge to corporate videos.
